According to a Wikipedia search on Kiersey Temperament Sorter:
For people of the SP and SJ types, the T is what makes them more directive and the F is what makes them more informative in nature. But for the NF and NT types, the J is what makes them more directive and the P is what makes them more informative. Meaning the T/J serve the same objective function, and the F/P serve the same subjective function. I guess that's why the ESTP can seem so much a J even with their P because the T in the SP temperament makes them more directive, plus the E which makes them expressive rather than attentive.
